"I'm from New York... and this is the best cheesecake I've ever had." - Eddie

That is exactly what my sister's boyfriend (my brother at heart!!) said about the cheesecake my mom made for thanksgiving. Another addition to my photo essay on food. I'd love to hear any and everything you do and don't like about this shot! Thanks ahead of time!

Oh this looks so yummy!! All that I can say is that maybe if it was a bit clearer, it would look a bit better. My favorite aspect about this is how it not only looks like you could just pick it up and take a big bite, but also how the strawberry toppings look so amazing! Great capture. Now I'm starving for a slice!

This shot is so rich that you can taste it! Perhaps a little clearer shot would be preferable?

It's yummy. Though I agree it should've been shot clearer. Still a good one.

Emily... it looks like you'll have to go out to buy more of this cheesecake... lucky you. Arrange it as close as possible to this setting and get it in focus (I seem to think it's a matter of f-stop... a very short plane of some crumbs is in focus). The focus thing could be a problem only because our minds think the shot should be in focus. If we see both effects, we can determine which effect we prefer. At least we can have the cake and you can eat it too! :o)
Edit: My sister's boyfriend... my brother¿ See I read! Finally! :o)

This is another awesome pic! It is fun, but classy. Nice clarity, the brightness of the colors, off-set by the black background, the clarity of the lines on the pie and syrup, off-set by the scattered crumbs. Very nice indeed! Keep it up!

Looks like the one I made the night I commented on your marble cheesecake! The only thing I would consider doing differently is opening up the aperture to get a bit more of the cake in focus. Right now the focus seems a little too tight. I think it might help if you perused through some gourmet food magazines at Barnes and Noble to get some ideas on what sort of image they like to print. Keep it up, Emily. And don't put on any pounds eating your subjects! lol
