A waterfall in central Iceland, which used to have a natural rock arch spanning the brink until around a decade ago, when sadly it collapsed. Avoiding the usual photo-approach, I had a quick search around for something different in terms of viewpoint and came up with this. It's nothing special, but I was pleased to come away with a half-decent photo despite it being right on midday, the sun casting some seriously harsh light on everything. ND grad filters balanced light and shade, and the usual high f-stop value to allow water movement despite bright conditions...

Beautiful shot and outstanding technical skill to achieve such perfection under difficult shooting consitions.

I'm in awe of the amount of detail you've captured in the light and dark areas, given the high degree of contrast.

Stunning colours, clarity and lighting. Full marks and congratulations on such an inspiring capture.

The perspective on this image makes it look three dimensional. Wonderful image!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Hi James, you're wrong on two counts here, this image IS something special and it's a lot more than a half decent photo. Great stuff.
Cheers! Ray.

It seems you are at ease with all the technical stuff and you have such a good feel for composition. You have captured not only a beautiful scene but also the mood of the moment.
