This is a quarry in North Wales, its hidden away from site and a stunning surprise as you turn the corner. Bill very kindly edited out the orange bouy for me, thanks again Bill.
You would never relise that you took this photo in North Wales if you hadn't mentioned the fact. It looks almost tropical there, with the blue water that has hints of turquiose in it. It contrasts well with the slate coloured cliff rock. Your photo demonstrates well how nature can appear barren and beautiful at the same time. Very tranquil shot indeed.
Nice image Jo. i too think some contrast might ease some of the bright light in the upper left corner. It does'nt take away from the overall composition of this though. i like how the tree branches are hilighted against the rock wall. how lucky you are to have seen this lovely place...
Very nice composition in this shot - that nice DOF works so well to make the tree limbs and foliage look like the finest natural green lace against the face of the quarry rock.
I still think they look like glaciers. Once again I like the color of the water and it's aptly titled. Did you throw a rock or two in just because you could. Very nice post.
