Now Ladies and Gentlemen if you would like to cross to the side of the table, we can have a chance to look at the large fire place in the kitchen. As you can see from the size of the table ( which could easily fit about 16 people around it) the fire in this room was huge. But as this was the main cooking area for the entire house, it had to be big. Not only was there the family to feed Robert Wynn also had between 11 and 20 servants. I have to be honest and say that I wouldnt like to have to be in here cooking when everything is going full heat as it was bound to be a bit chaotic, its not that big. I have to wonder on the dexterity of the servers as well really as the main dining hall is on the 2nd floor up some very winding stairs. So to carry a huge salver of food up there must have been some task. Thank you for looking x

Excellent again Jo. I guess that's why they called them servants. I'm with you. This was room service before there was room service. Great tour you're giving us. Do we have to tip?

Ah, the kitchen I'm in my element now Jo (provided there isn't a mandolin is sight!!). That fire is fantastic but how do you get it to stick at Gas Mark 6? Another great part of your tour, MFJ.
