The crow gets to live in a clean world unencumbered my messy relationships. This shot was taken before color photography was invented (or so I wish :)). When I was at a somewhat remote village in South India absorbing the beautiful view of the hills, river and the slow life, I looked up to find this. The bird was just a tad out of focus as it was a hurried shot because my family was asking me to get into the boat; figured I will turn into B&W to hide this. I ended up liking it more after the conversion. What do you think?

Some of the power lines are sharp so I guess that's what the camera selected to autofocus on! The effect of all those lines converging is very powerful visually and the out of focus bird could be metaphorical, almost as if it's not really part of the same world implied by the power lines. I reckon there would be some interesting abstract kind of shots to be found in a revisit to power lines like this one with more focus on comp and angles of the lines.

Darn near looks like a fractal image with the chaos maze of lines you've captured. An interesting photo JP. ~Wendell

Yes, really messy. I hope they don't get hurt. Nice photo.

Quite a contrast between the beauty of hills and rivers, and the tangled mess of the wires. I wonder which view the crow prefers? Interesting image, JP.

I like this quite a bit. When I'm not pretending to be a photographer, I'm usually driving around, at work, pretending to be a telecom tech. ;-) I often see clusters of confusion like this, although happily, not usually with power lines, but with phone and cable TV lines. The focus works quite well as is, as it draws the eye to the knot of wires. The black and white also does quite well here as it simplifies your composition. Very well done. +faves.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

What a conglomerate of wires!! But am I mistaken, or or some of those actually tiny dried up vines? I think it's a very unique photo and sure makes a person think!! The blurriness doesn't seem to matter too much with this. B&W was a good idea to bring out the "wow" factor too!! Glad you took the shot. Verena
