This was taken in the main channel at Lake Powell. The white section on the rocks is actually about 90 feet high. It gives you an idea how high this rock wall actually is.

Jackie this is beautiful. The rock formation is gorgeous and the colors in it amazing. Great capture and post and thanks for sharing it. Looks great on the DT
i like it too. the detail on the rocks is incredible, especially the one that sticks out the most. when i was there the water was very low. is it any better now. jen
You've done a wonderful job on a much photographed and hard-to-capture place, and I say that because it is so huge, it's hard to give the sense of the enormity of the lake and how very little real access there is to it..Can you tell I've been there? lol...You've captured a lot of the spirit of the boulders and how they line the edge of the water, so much so that there is very little "beach" to speak of that I can remember. The sky in AZ is usually very cooperative and poses so wonderfully well with clear blue, and you were lucky to get so many nice clouds in as well. The water looks as rough, moody, and DEEP as it is. I think that's where that rich color comes from...the deep recesses of the Glen Canyon it covers. Excellent post :)PJ
