If this is your idea of sugar and spice, I'm glad you're posting desktops and not recipes! This is a lovely post - full of interest with lively colours and contrasting shapes. I do object to the use of 'lady', but that's your description and doesn't detract from the appeal of the image in any way, so I'll just have to forgive you! (And I'm sure your intentions were good, and they do say it is the thought that counts...)

I think it is the mixture of the smooth and flowing with the energetic stripes which suggest quicker movements that I find so interesting here - it's an unusual combination.

Good work!

Very lovely, John, and thank you for the sweet gesture :) I love everything about this image, with the softness in the center with vivid fans of color surrounding it, and the flowing bow in the lower right is really special. I wish you a happy new year too, and thank you also for the support you have shown me! :)

What a wonderful picture. I just love viewing other artist’s work on this site. It’s one of my favorite things to do when I have the time. You have a great eye. Unbelievable how you created this wonderful picture; you are truly talented. I like the overall look of it and it will make a great desktop.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
