Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

Oh man! This is really exciting! The multitude of gem like colors is a real turn on. It brings back memories of being a kid and loving every color in the world and if asked which candy I'd choose, wanting one of every color. Like Alexis, this reminds me of Mardi Gras too.
