I've been ever so jealous of everyones amazing dragonfly shots cos I've been missing my opportunities at the waters edge all summer. Finally I caught this one yesterday evening at Sielpia waters It's obviously got its autumn camo on! cos you can barely see it amongst the leaf litter. Where are the irridescent blues and greens etc? Any hoo handheld at one arms length with my heavy camera aiming by guess, so I wouldnt scare it by approacing much closer. Natural warm evening sun 1/60th @ f8 70mm. I loved the backlight outline and the highlight and shadows through the wings. I was very lucky to catch this cos two seconds later it flew right away. Please enjoy :)

No apology necessary on this capture Jeremi.
The detail of the foilage and dragonfly is vivid and sharp. The one contrasting green leaf, draws you right to the center and leads you right to the subject...dragonfly. Very nicely done. Thank You

They move so fast that even in splendid blazing colors...I barely see them, so this amazes me you captured it! It blends in yet is so detailed and striking! Beautiful work, Jeremi!

You've illustrated perfectly why most females are dull earth colours. They blend in well - particularly when very vulnerable during egg laying!
Cheers,
Steve.
