This pic. was taken about a year or so ago. I was mowing my lawn one day when all of a suden there was a "poof" of fur & grass from the mower! I was almost afraid to go back to see what I hit fearing I had run over an animal of some sort. I was happy to see these little guys safe & sound (below ground level) all curled up in there nest! All I had done was blown the top of the nest off! Thanks all for your views & comments!

That's quite a story. It's miraculous that those little bunnies were cut up. They are so sweet. Good photo. Wished you would have shared it sooner.

What an amazing story Dan . I too am surprised they weren't killed. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else.I know you were so relieved that they were OK. Makes this photo even more special knowing the history behind it. I am going to put this one into my favorites to remind me that miracles do happen. Thanks for sharing this with us.

A wonderful shot Dan. Glad the baby bunnies were okay. I have had that happen to me also while mowing the lawn .... it really scares you when you see stuff flying around. Adorable little bunnies .... very nicely done.

my mom discovered a bunny nest while gardening. the babies were much younger than these, no fur or anything yet, and i think that the mother abandoned the nest b/c the top was disturbed, and the babies died. :( i hope your bunnies met with a better fate.

I have never seen bunny nests. I thought that they hide under the ground. How high was your grass? They look adorable!

Without our natural landscapes and animals this country would be boring. Let's try to help to preserve such treasures.
