I took this on my drive down to the State Park on Labor Day weekend. This is in the small town of Canton,SD. I've always liked the looks of this neat old courthouse..hope you do too! Thanks much everyone!
It is truly a grand looking building Dan. What I noticed and really like about it though is that the tree on the left seems the same height as the watch tower. Those clouds in the background are beautiful as well. Very nice post- it looks crystal clear.
Very interesting building Dan! Looks a bit like a palace, not a courthouse! Love the sky! - you have captured some wonderful blue sky and white fluffy clouds!

A wonderful looking building Dan ... it reminds me so much of the courthouse where I live. You captured it in perfect lighting & I like the contrast in colors. Gorgeous sky & clouds also ... a fantastic shot.
Well, Dan, it looks like all the good commenters have beat me to the punch line :) or is that beat me to the draw ? Photo? Anyway, I too am very impressed with this grand building and I'm glad you decided to send it our way. I love the light tan color of the structure and its complimentary dark brown accents. I'm not so sure about the red trash can in the front left and the orange work net over on the far left, but it doesn't detract from the overall impressiveness of this take, except that I had my eye out for color and of course, I couldn't help but notice. Speaking of color, I can't leave without saying that because this building is so light in hue and so well kept up, that...even though it is certainly the star of this composition, at the same time it creates a nice light center that allow the deep greens and the cloud festooned azure sky to have their rightful place in your presentation. Nicely done :) *points to self....can't keep a good 'old windbag down...lol... :)PJ
You have a postcard-perfect photo here, Dan! Wish I could make some smart remarks about cloning something but you took the wind out of my sail with this one!! Even those great clouds wanted you to have a perfect shot that day!! - Patty

I love it when they're closed! Not a bunch of cars or people going in and out to get in the way. Beautiful day for the sky and shadows of the tree on the face of the building. Cool that you backed off far enough, and are at the right angle to get those evergreens the same height as the steeple.
