This is what sits beneath my earlier photo of the Cupola. It is an old barn/livery stable that has been restored and sits inside Arrowhead Park in Sioux Falls. It was originally built in 1888 and used as a livery stable for the horses and equipment used to mine quartzite in quarries located close by. The quarries are no longer in use and have now filled with water. They are now used as a safe haven for waterfowl and wildlife which frequent the area. The land was donated to the city of Sioux Falls by the owners of the property for use as a park. The owner and his wife still have their residence inside the park next to the ponds. Please see the link above for more info. & pictures! Thanks for viewing & commenting!

thanks Daniel, that was a very informative link you gave there and now I see what is sitting beneath the cupola, but I still don't know what a cupola is, so going to check on the net! lol! :) The building looks like it is in excellent condition considering it has been there so long. Patti

It gets better as it goes along, but will have your attention from the first quote.
