Passing it On II

Some time ago I posted a photo of a sculpture by this same name. It depicts a Grandfather passing on the art of banjo playing to his Grandson. This photo reminds me so much of that title I decided to give it the same name. This time it is real life, and my Mom, "passing it on" to her Grandchild (my niece). Hope you enjoy this and let me know what you think! Thanks so much everyone!

This is a powerful photo Dan, very nicely done by yourself and your mother looks like a super wonderful lady. Your niece is a good student too. LOL for now. :-) The warm touch we all need to get headed in the right direction in life. Good job buddy.

This one looks better. The colors are nicer and the feeling between grandmother and child is better shown. Great job.

Hi Dan, my oh my, I am so impressed with the thought, the feeling, and the warmth that went into the creation of this photo, I can hardly speak, in fact, there is a tear in my eye! John above me said it in a far more effective way, by saying, "the warm touch we all need to get headed in the right direction in life", thank you John, because your words delivered a greater message than my few! If all children were given these experiences early and in the most impressive times of their young lives, their adult living would be happier, more stable than so many of them experience today! This is one of life's concepts being fostered in a lovely way! Sincerely, Marilyn

Such a warm and loving photo Dan. You can just see and feel the love they have for each other. Now this is how family should be- loving, caring and spending time with each other. Thanks for sharing your Mother with us- we all know she's a special lady to you. I also like the framing and B&W you used, it looks really good.

Are you and Tracey competing with each other this week? I love this. I really like the "coloration" you gave it. That gives it an old time look. Hug your Mom for me. She looks so sweet.

A lovely tribute to your family at this particular time of the year when family means the most. You're lucky to a part of such a loving group, and so are your nieces and nephews. :)PJ

I love the contrast in ages and the sharing image of the older helping and imparting assistance to the young. your niece who seems pleased to have her grandmother involved with what she is doing. A nice image, Dan. Yes, give your mother and your niece a very big hug each because you are so lucky to have them both.

Dan-This is great in black and white. Captures the strength, but gentleness and knowledge of our Mom. Chloe's a lucky little girl to have her as a teacher and a grandma. (And lucky to have such an artistic uncle to capture these memories to look back on!) This brought tears to my eyes!
