Or so sings Sheryl Crow in one of my favorite songs by her! I snapped this shot while out on my drive last week in what little fresh snow we had gotten. This road takes a little twist & turn as it crosses the creek the bridge takes us over. Thanks so much for any and all comments, and especially for taking the time to visit! :)

Nice country scene Dan. Hope you had 4 wheel drive, or all weather tires at least. Looked like it would be slippery going up that hill.

Hey !!! ...that's one of my favorite songs too and this upload carries out the essence of that sentiment. Lovely shot, Dan, and the colors are subtle and again you've achieved that nice "smooth" texture. I didn't know there were so many dirt roads out your way. I thought we had a monopoly on them here in the piney woods..lol..:)

Dan, dear friend,
This has been so long ago that I have been driving out of town that I almost forgot that such roads DO exist and your presentation is both beautiful and nostalgic ...
Many thanks, Dan, and slightly nostalgic congratulations !!!!

Wow, that road sure gives away just how hilly this terrain is and your shot picked up most of the road that could be viewed from where you were standing. At least you got enough snow to stick. Looks like the plow didn't want to go up the hill. lol This has a very 'wintery' look with not much around but the road, the snow, the brush and the sky. Thanks for this view of SD, Dan.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Humm, I don't get it. it makes no sense to lay a road out like that unless there is something there that I don't see. Must have been planned and executed on a Sat nite. How much am I ssafe in betting that you didn't try to drive up that hill on the far side?
Excellent portrayal of backcountry.

Very nice image Dan. I love roads and how they can lead you on to another place. If you want more snow, I'll send you all you want. At last count I had 56 inches here and more to come this week too. Oh well. We need the moisture. Or so they say.

I think you have had your watercolour paints out here Daniel! - and you have painted a lovely image ! Love the way the roads twist and turn and well done at photographing it from this angle - it makes you look right into the photograph and over the hill! :) Patti

Over the river and thru the woods to ....who knows where! I think you've seen more snow out your way than we have here this winter. We keeep getting traces of snow here in the last few weeks. The presidents have been complaining there cold without their blanket of snow. Nice picture, it reminds me of some of my country out here. Jodie

Hey Dan ... been a while since I stopped by. Thought I'd see what's happenin' in the Dakotas. Not much has changed ... you're still posting some great shots of the countryside there. I like that treeline at the top of the hill. Pay no attention to Pat above ... she's just lookin' to get you lost like she's been on occasion. :o)
