Did someone say geese?? This is just a small part of a huge flock that was waiting out the snow in Arrowhead Park here over the weekend. There were literally thousands sitting in this little lake. You cant see it because of their number, but there is actually open water underneath the majority of them. An aerator is maintained under the water to keep it from freezing over completely in the winter, giving the geese and other waterfowl a refuge. Thanks for your views and comments; much appreciated!

Wow, Dan, that's a really fabulous shot of these guys. I love to see them all huddled together as the snow falls. It reminds me of that movie, March of the Penguins, where all the penquins huddled to bear the brunt of the wind and cold. I rushed over here when I saw you mention geese at my post. Thanks for stopping and I'm glad I didn't miss this!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

With that many geese I don't see why they need an aerator, goose farts should probably keep the water open and predators away too. LMAO I see quite a few plump ones out there Dan, you're a sheriff.........go out there and arrest a few and send em' to me would ya ?? (Cleaned) LMAO Good one buddy.

Well, better late than never to huddle with this gaggle of geese..I wish they'd come to my neck of the woods and gather round my ISP and keep it warm so that it would stay up for more than two hours at a time. :( Anyway...now you've gotten the snow AND geese..will it never end, my friend? You may have to brush a few of them off before you're done...just be careful not to ruffle any feathers.. lol..love it, Dan.

One blast from a 10 guage and BAM! dinner for a full house of hungry people. Besdes it may reduce the goose population here in Colorado if you would help out with something other than a camera. Just kidding Dan. Great Shot.
