Shot late aftersummer / early autumn during a walk in the neighbourhood greenfield site. It was actually earlier the same day as I shot the photo "Next to the Sun".
when i first saw this photo, i knew it was going straight into my favorties gallery... I really like these pics with the darkness surrounding a lighted area. This pic though, honestly has to be my fav. photo that i have seen.......
I was very impressed with the thumbnail of this -- then I viewed it full-size to download it and it immediately became a D10F. You already have a most impressive gallery here and I eagerly look forward to your future posts.
It's not the shot that is beautiful (even though it is), it's your interpretation of the shot that gives it such great character, the idea of a beautiful ending after a struggle through the rough.
The dense foliage somehow doesnt give the sense of foreboding with sunlight being a short distance away. There's a strong sense of 'waiting' tho, as if something is gonna come by. Something to the effect of van Gogh's 'A Road in Auvers After the Rain' (Auvers-sur-Oise, June 1890). The lush green's luminescence is a vibrant contrast to the dark woods. I guess this photo simply speaks more than being just a pretty image.
Hello khj. What a great photo! I saw it whilst in the Voting Booth. I voted top marks after viewing it! It's a remarkably atmospheric image. It is a certainly evocative to say the least. Another excellent piece of work from your excellent gallery!
Oh, that's sneaky. Truly unique. I love the way there is a suggestion of detail on all side of the dark framing. You might have titled this, "Pee A Boo".
Great capture.
