I had a great time in the wastelands of Side. It was hard to find really untouched sand to shoot and I was there late afternoons so the shadows are a bit prominent... (The desert like landscape was far too hot to be in during midday. I tried once, won't do it again. ^_^) This is one of my favourite sand shots from that summer. I got one more but it's harder to postprocess. (I need a better screen than I currently use for that...) I hope you like it. :)

Again Klas pulls through with a wonderfully detailed shot. Great shadow details really bring out the coarse texture of the sand. The more I look at it the greater it becomes...thinking about the processes that formed such a spectacle. Excellent desktop material and must be downloaded to fully understand it. Cheers Klas:-)

The color and shadow is great; but like the others said, it's the detail that sets it apart. I have seen several similar shots to this one, but none with this wonderful texture. Onto the desktop and into my favorites.

I totally agree Pierre. On a good day it's possible to capture with a camera. :)

A simply delicious image. For some reason, it reminds me of gingerbread cookies and langues de chat. Im glad it's a late afternoon shot. It's got a nice golden brown look which sets it apart from the many scorching midday sand dune photos that Ive seen.

Thanks for the great comment. Now that you mention it I can see the gingerbread quality in the color. ^_^
