I sent Avi another shot of this subject and some of you thought I shold post the original... but it was too overexposed to post as an ordinary photo I think. Avi made a great edit of it. He suggested that I should use the burn tool in ps to darken the overexposure. I tried but it wouldn't work out that well so I went throught my shots of that day. I found this one with very good light but it had a bit too centered composition for my usual selection of good shots... ^_^ (I like the composition better in the other one I think) As usual: Feedback and other comments are most wellcome. :)

HI Klas....this is a another quality shot ......so sharp the image...so much detail. like u say the central placement is quite dominating in this image but its sweet nevertheless. again bringing to light the simple things that we dismiss that are quite the eye candy upon closer inspection. good job. hats off to ye : {D

Nice shot indeed.

I like the sun-light this way.
And a nice depth of scharpnes balance

Very good shot Klas, I like the lighting and the composition is great for a macro this size:-) Have you tried levels and curves to adjust brightness-exposure values?

Thanks Darryl. :) Sure I use level adjustments all the time. I can't really manage without it. ^_^ I'm not currently a big friend of using curves. I never learned it properly... I'm still new to all this. Thing is that if a part of a photo is totally overexposed so all you got left is just an area of white... Then no edit in the world (that I know of) can bring it back. Maybe I'm wrong but i tried everything I can think of and it just doesn't change back the burnt areas of the shot. Thanks for the tip anyway. Maybe you can explain to me how to adjust the whites with curves. ;-)

Klas, you are right about white areas being hard to recover. Curves does not do well in those departments! You can clone color back in though! Sorry it took so long to respond back, I forgot to hit the danged button to subscribe!

Thanks. I did try something like that, but I never got the textures and lighting right... I've been playing around with curves now for a while. Soon my earlier color correction tips may be in danger... ^_^ Well, not yet really since it's some time before I can master those tools. I think they are quite sensitive and complex to adjust manually. But that's maybe just me.
