I found a quote of Mandelbrot that I really liked: "Fractal geometry is not just a chapter of mathematics, but one that helps Everyman to see the same world differently." I've always been fascinated by the fractal quality of natures creations and I like to capture it once in a while as in this image. Like I (and many others) have said a lot of times: Nature's the artist. Hope you like the photo. :)

I really like this one, Klas, although that shade of green is unappealing to me.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Hehe. :) That's essentially the case for me too but I didn't fell like messing around too much with the image. I just made some minor corrections and cropped it some. Maybe I'll pull this one later on and make another version in blue or something more appealing.

What's it a pic of? Or is it really a fractal? Neat Pic, Gj! :)

It's some vegetable I bought today since I thought it looked cool. I think it's a crossbreeding between cauliflower and broccoli. I'll cook it tomorrow and see if it's edible. ^_^

ah... great !!!!! and true....

I gonna keep my eye open from now on... hoping to make a photo like this.... and find the fractal that wil almost give the same picture.... Its an old wish to make a gallery that shows fractals and photo's whit the same patern.

Man is neither angel nor beast. But those who try to be angels turn into beasts. (Emanuel Kant ? )

:) Thanks. Good luck with that project. It would be really cool to see that. I'm not too good at creating "real" fractals (since I'm not too advanced in my math skills). I suspect that this kind of 3D fractal would be rather hard to create in any fractal program though. Most fractals I see are more or less two dimensional.

Klas, so how did it taste? Obviously you lived through the experience. LOL!

lol! It was quite ok. The taste was just like a mix of cauliflower and broccoli (it was firmer in texture though) so if you like them I guess you can't go wrong with this vegetable. ^_^

I love fractals too, and the philosophy behind it...This one definately proves it to be a fractal. Self-Similar in some ways. It even looks like it could be a sea shell from the thumbnail. Excelent work.

Excellent image - don't know if I'd like something that tastes like both broccoli and cauliflower though!
