Close-up of a Chinese lantern type lamp. These textures drew me in for a closer inspection when I was lucky enough to have my camera, and a spare minute at hand. ^_^ Now where is that photography->abstract gallery to put this in?

know what, Klas? That ain't a half bad desktop. Sometimes I want something plain and I get tired of landscapes. I would crop off the left side of this that is out of focus and use it for a desktop from the vertical line on right. Kind of a rich pretty brown color as well. Very creative and a good eye.

Thanks for the comment. I understand your thought with cropping, however I feel it would take away some of the (minimal) dynamics that is present in the piece as it is. I was aiming for having part of the photo out of focus. I did try your suggestion before coming to the above viewpoint. It's always nice to get some real feedback though. Thanks for taking the time.

I like it as it is... Besides, that left side makes for a nice place to put some icons in ;)
Good work Klas!

Yeah, and that vertical line is just in the right position too. It'd be too simple with just those horizontal lines. In just artistic mean I would have maybe sharpened it a bit to let the texture stand out and also added some richness in colour (I mean like adding a little shade of some different colour..i dunno..) ....and maybe darkened that out of focus part. I think it's great. First I start to follow one of those horizontal lines and then the other and so I "cruise" around the image for quite a long time behore getting tired.

Thanks for the kind words. :) I liked that line too. It's the corner of the IKEA square rice-paper lamp (I don't know if you say it like that in english, "Chinese lantern type lamp" is possibly better).

I'll see if I can make something out of your advice Janne. I'm afraid I'm not as proficient in PS tinkering as you though... I did tweak the color slightly and up the contrast a smidgen as I usually do. Working more with that could probably make it much more interesting. We're back to the PS proficiency there again though... ^_^

really bizarre, i cant say what it is, very unusual, kinda like an optical illusion. with the depth of focus. like it much :~)

Thanks! I must have described it quite murkily I guess... I'm not sure I can do better though. I'm glad you liked it anyway. :)

This IKEA lamp is what was my subject.

Hi there Klas......this is quite interesting and makes for an even more interesting desktop ! :) I really love the rich color that you captured as well as the intriguing design. One would never guess that a photo of the the chinise lamp shade could be so fascinating. Good eye for a unique shot! Well done my friend:~_
Thanks for visiting ~happy birth day babies~. I thought is was amazing that Momma flew off to allow me to photograph the birth! I felt very blessed since i have never seen one before (of birds I mean:)....we have not been on the front porch since then and all appears to be well with the family. The third egg is still in question though since we have not 'peeked'! Your continued support, comments and critiques are deeply appreciated. Have a great day! :~)

Not the Abstract gallery Klas, the textures Gallery. That's what this is all about, not only in the folds and creases but in the texture of the paper itself. Makes a good desktop simply filled with color and pattern.

Thanks for the input. You're quite right. I've moved it already.
