I'm quite pleased with how this came out but you should feel free to be critical .

I would feel pleased as well, you did an excellent job here...It is quite amazing how much detail you've captured here with such a small creature. It is so light only the shadows follow it where it goes, and leaves no traces of footprints behind, haha. Beautifully executed :)

Hey Kristof,

I love this picture, Very nice close-up,
I like the soft background a lot (interested to which lens u used),
As you ask to be critical about a near perfect shot,
My untrained eye would love to see the black spots on the lady to be a bit darker and same for the reds,

Thanks a lot for sharing the lovely lady
Tim

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Excellent, and Tim may have a point, but it's too beautiful for me to pick at...except to say that I'm wondering if you use a flat macro lens for this type of work. I'm considering getting one at great personal expense, hoping to put an end to the blur on the edge of the macro focus caused by the convex lens I'm using now. At least that's what I've been led to believe.

You just keep taking those almost perfect shots all the time. Your macro shots (and others too) are outstanding. I couldn't find anywhere (maybe I didn't look well enough..) so what kind of camera are you using and what lens do you use for your macros. The out-of-focus -parts are so soft compared to most macro shots I've seen.

Ohhhhhhhhhh here we are again with such a wonderful little ladybug....you know I have sent your other photo closeup with the dewdrop to many people all over the world..and it is so very much enjoyed. And now this one...you really ought to make a collage of these...they are magnificient!! Verena

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

There really isn’t anything to criticise here. Perhaps the shadows could be a little darker, but really I like it just the way it is. It’s a marvellous photo, a real credit to you. But do tell, what is the lady bug climbing?
