This is a nature reserve in Surrey, England, which I visited earlier this year. Every spring it is covered in a virtual carpet of bluebells (Endymion non-scriptum). It might seem a little pretentious to give the latin name, but in Scotland a completely different plant is also called bluebell.

How very very beautiful! A carpet of bluebells like that is so special. Im so glad you posted this. I lived in Englnd for 3 yrs as a child..and I remember seeing things like this..its so very lovely. I like the way you've kind of shot "uphill" and then got the line of trees. . And by the way there is nothing pretentious about knowing the latin name of plants..Ive always wishes I knew them!! Thank you for such a lovely photo....verena

What a beautiful place! Very nice photo. I think it would have been an even better photo if there was more sunshine through the leaves and in the background. Well, maybe next year? I give it a 9.

I grew up in England, I haven’t seen a carpet of bluebells for many years. Unless I’m mistaken you even got a few snowdrops too. You caught a very pleasant scene here, thanks for the memory trip.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

This came up on the front page and I had to investigate. What a lovely capture. I'd love to find a forest floor like this just covered in flowers. What a beautiful sight! You composed it so well too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
