Here is a shot from the second attempt at capturing the Great Blue Heron... This shot has only been cropped ever so slightly and resized for here. Enjoy!
I'm in awe Ruby. He is magnificant and you captured him at a perfect moment. The clarity, color and composition are all right on. Exceptional post my friend and thanks for sharing him.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

Hi there Ruby..I just got this great heron in the voting booth and wanted to let you know what a good job you did capturing the ruffled front of these birds with your camera lens! The colors are good as well. I also like the half rock, half grass background. Very effective. Thanks for sharing this with us :~)
Ruby, this is one of the very best shots of a blue heron I've seen in many years. The fact that herons inhabit the wetlands behind us, you'd think by now I would have caught a shot, but no such luck. I'll keep trying as you have given me the incentive. Very fine presentation....Neil
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.

Top quality shot Ruby. Good details on this handsome fellow. He stands proudly posing like a model. Well composed with good clarity. This Blue Heron shows off his gorgeous feathers - the bits of blue are lovely. This is a keeper & thanks :*>
THE SHOT IS JUST PERFECT :)
