You're right, the thumbnail is nothing compared to the full screen view. Really great.
I like the contrast between the dragonfly wing like pastels and the solid gold wire.
I think the 17 hours were worth it.

Lauren - I got to agree with Jochem, the thumbnail is nothing compared to the full screen view. Now what does it look like to me? . . . .well I stared at this for quite a while, then I remembered my ole rule, go with the obvious. The top creature has insect like legs and wings, it reminds me of a fly. The bottom creature is the some sort of receptor, receiving information from the fly. You must live in a wonderful world to call it "Tears from the sun", I would of just called it "the messenger". Do flies live more than 17 hrs? :) Interesting render.... I like it!. Do more please.
