Apophysis, but please don't ask me what variation this is, I can't keep them straight anymore.

*nods* I agree...it's depth is one of the best parts of this fractal, but I also am enjoying the smoothness of the entire render.

This has a very 3-D feel and look to it Lauren. The colors themselves are quite unique and work well together. Very sharp and clear creation with good use of Apop and whatever other magic you used. Got this in the voting booth. Lucky me ;=)
Thank you for sharing this with us ;)

Beautiful work. The image is silken smooth and silky shiny. Lovely details with individual spirals, whirls and areas of great depth. It makes me think of a sort of insect nursery of some sort, with larvae wrapped in sticky, silky cocoons and sticky webbed curtains creating a maze-like warren of warm, dark chambers.

Excellent job.

Wow ... I am impressed with the colour separation you have achieved with this flame Lauren.

Just wow.

Don't know the 'how' ... but, obviously your experience with gradients shows extremely well with this offering of yours.

FULL-SIZE VIEW IS A MUST.

That's the second time today I have written that. And truly to absorb this one ... full-size is required.

And a very, very ... very clean render. Most impressive as well. Gorgeous highlights ... really well done.

Thanks for sharing this one ... it is a visual tutorial of sorts in my mind, of what can ... can be achieved. :o)
