Before I had the chance to take this shot, a great blue heron became a bit defensive of this great egret, who was strolling around the heron's future nest. I was very glad to see that heron, needless to say, because it gave me a chance to snap this!

Great details on the egret, Robert. The white of it's plumage though, seems to have been greyed just a tad. I suspect the culprit is a slight over-correction in curves, which is something I've had happen to a few of my own pics.
