This statue is also known locally as the Weeping Woman. She is a headstone in the local "haunted" Riverview cemetery which you can read about here. The cemetery has a lot of big fancy headstones that you don't hardly see anymore of today. Thanks to all that view and comment.

Such amazing detail in this headstone Linda. I can truly see the sadness she evokes. I read the link you provided also- very interesting. I love to see headstones such as this, they add such character to an otherwise dismal setting. Thanks for sharing this.

What an image. It really get the mind to racing. After looking at the link I would say it was a son lost in the War Between the States. Yankee or Confederate? It doesn't matter, too many from each side perished. Good post Veteran's Day photo. Very nice Linda.

Impressive shoot. The woman is sorrowful, but calm with her feelings. You've used an excellent angle to take the picture of the face.
Personally I would remove the horizontal tree branch behind the scene (unfortunately it makes the composition a bit not accurate) and use b/w mode.
Nevertheless my congratulations.
