After the Caedes UK Get Together both Jan and Nigel met up with me for a fun day in London. This is one of the things we did, ride the London Eye~ which if I'm not mistaken is the tallest ferris wheel in the world. Please correct me if I'm wrong :) Possibly the 2nd tallest? (I sure had a great day with the two of you ;) Thanks for such a fun time!)

wow Lisa! this is one of the best shots I have seen of the London Eye - you certainly have an eye for capturing the unusual and this is different - not only have you captured one of the capsules and all the people in it, but we also have a panoramic view of London too .....and most importantly the horizon is straight! hahahaha! ;) love it!

Top capture Lisa, having been up in the eye on my one day in London and took some photos and never came close to one as clever or good as this I am ripe with envy. Jeez, does everyone get blue sky in London except me? The complete absence of reflection off the inside of the glass is just the icing on the cake with this shot.

I have to agree with Mikel...and all the other commenters above as well. Although I've never been up in the thing itself, I have seen many good pics from it, but this has got to be one of the top (no pun intended) shots I've seen for perspective and for composition.

Well, done, my friend. I'm so glad you had such a great time on your adventure in England.

That's a great take on the Eye Lisa. I always feel completely safe on that thing and it never truly occurs to me how high and small the capsule is. This shot really brings all that home. My favourite bit of this day was telling Jan in the queue that I'd booked us an 'open top' capsule so we could take better photos. She virtually turned green! Great shot Lisa. And yes, I think it is the tallest big wheel in the world - although I seem to remember talk of people thinking of building a bigger one somewhere.

hehe amazing view! you got a good one here, alot of mine have reflections, although i do have an infraview i may post at some point, hehehe. they just opened a bigger one , i have a feeling it is in tokyo (but i may be wrong), i agree with nigel that you do feel safe on here, its not scary, you cant even really feel it moving. and ha, nigel is a meanie, he says everything with such a straight face you never know whether to belive him or not! lol

Four hundred and fifty feet tall, if I recall correctlly. It's nice to see a shot of one of the cars so that folks don't have the idea that it is like a regular ferris wheel. What a wonderful view from up there and it looks like you took this shot at a very opportune time. I'm glad you did!

Hi Lisa,

Thats a stunning piece of photography, the composition is out of this world, just one spot on photo indeed.

Take care and hope to meet you one day, shame I could not make it to Bradford, looked like you all had a great time, still, next year eh....

Kind regards,

Mark.
