this coral seen from one side looks solid, but the other side shows how it is made up of columns of coral and all grow together to make this shape. Rather amazing don't u think? please see my others in this series. thanks.

The colours are so wonderful. Coral is so odd, I wonder what makes it take all these different shapes. Must be the way the water around it moves. Very nice to see this. Verena

"Horn Coral" (or a coral stalk) still washes up on the shores of Lake Michigan from 10 million years ago when Michigan was covered by a warm coral sea. I have found many single and double stalks of horn coral. Fran
