the highly coloured interiour of these clams attracts fish and whne they come close to investigate the clam snaps shut and lunch is served. Another of my series of snorkling for the first time using a hired digital camera.I will be posting a couple more underwater photos before I tire of them and move to another subject. so enjoy please.

Oh! but that is one interesting clam! I love the colours and the sparkly look on the inside. The inner "lining" looks just like velvet. This must have been a most wonderful experience for you! I've really enjoyed 'your trip' under the sea. Verena

I didn't see all the colors until I looked at it in full size. Then, wow set in!

Despite cropping out a bit at the top this is a fantastic shot for the detail of the inside of the clam and the contrast between the plump softness of the inner and the hard texture of the shell. Very cool. Seeing it at FULL size really conveys the texture of the inner area.
