This is taken in the Dandenong Ranges just east of Melbourne Australia. I love our tall gum trees which as you can see by this photo whave an amazing white trunk when the bark is stripped away. Late afternoon gives the yellowy light just prior to sunset. enjoy Bunny

Really unusual but effective lighting on this, Bunny. The textures in the stripped bark stand out really well.

I am one of those people that just loves trees, they are strong, enduring, and there for a long time. This is how we should be too! I love the gum trees! And this photo is just grand. I like that you used the vertical format to not only bring the height of the tree out, but to show others as well.
I wonder if there is a use for the bark that is stripped off.
Lovely lovely photo. Verena

This photo does show the amazing height these trees attain...And the way you have one in the foreground makes one appreciate the beauty of the forest...Fran
