This area that you were photographing is obviously an open expanse. I'm curious as to why you chose to limit the scope and show only a sliver of the vista? I think this is an okay photograph. But in looking at it, I'm unclear as to what your focal was, what captivated you, in shooting it. The sky, the dappled sand, the water are all shown in equal parts and all only partly shown. I don't think it conveys well what you saw in photographing this particular landscape and wanted others to see. Please understand that I am only offering my humble opinion. It's not meant to discourage you, in any way. The intent is to help you, as an artist, in learning what you are doing well and in learning what you could maybe be doing better. :)
What Lisa says is somewhat correct, but the lack of specific subject material is exaggerated by the burnt out sky area and the suppression of detail along the beach (lead in line).
There is significant detail throughout this image which isn't showing here. It was either lost through sky over-exposure or in an attempt at correction during editing.
It's not obvious here, but the sky was undoubtedly the reason for this shot as the composition leads perfectly to an exceptionally dominant/dramatic sky.
You just can't see it in this image. I'll send you a rework and information.
