First and foremost, thank you for this visual salve. We are and did get hit last night by a storm. Much prefer waking up and seeing your image here, as opposed to that of what awaits outside.
Ok, then.
I recall another of your photos similar to this one. And another that I enjoyed.
And given the recall that I have, even sans coffee ... I do remember some natural framing on the right-hand side provided by a tree. So..
That little bit peeking in (branches) from the top right'ish?
Threw in some other post processing, however, in the instance of the crop it may turn out to be six of one, half a dozen of another. In that the fallen branches in the water now form a merger with the outside frame. But..
Not as noticeable to my eyes anyways, versus that of the branches in the sky against the lighter background.
Additionally, and somewhat serendipitously ... the crop placed the distant opening of water at a most opportune intersecting line (I have some compositional guides loaded as shapes in Photoshop).
That said..
Very pleasant setting/scene to view. Colours are natural and eye-catching.
Image quality is very good (focus/clarity, exposure, et al).
So..
Once again, thank you for sharing this one with us. Can I get you a cup o' joe? I am buying? Cream? Sugar?
We are going to get autumn weather at the end of the week, stormy weather, so not looking forward to that :o\
But to see this beauty make me think that autumn can be beautiful too, gorgeous colors and composition and Les aka Purmusic is right about the branch in the upper right corner, but you already know that!
I won't beat you with a dead branch on this shot. I am house bound today because of 4-5' drifts in the drive and in front of the garage. This shot is very soothing and thanks for checking your bin.
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Outstanding shot, Thad! I love the point-of-view and the vibrant, natural-looking colors of the trees. The silver-gray sky and water are a perfect compliment to the fall colors. Beautiful image!

What do you think of ... this slight crop?
