Denali National Park, Alaska, USA. Unfazed by our presence, this little squirrel grazed on the ground while I moved slowly closer. Grabbing a mushroom, it went to this perch in a nearby tree. Eager to eat, it allowed me to get fifteen feet away with my 70-200 lens. Enjoy!

The Alaskan squirrels have more nerve than the skittish gray tree squirrels around here. This really is a great shot, Thad. I'm especially impressed with the sharp detail. When I view a shot like this, I always zoom in on the eyes. Such sharp detail work. Very impressive. A well composed shot of your hungry little friend.

I've seen recently a lot of (good) squirrel images Thad, but to me, this one is the best, because of the very well balanced and surprising compositon.
Excellent work, my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
