Juneau, Alaska, USA. Shortly after heading out on the whale watch, we came across this mother and her baby cruising. Momma had just breathed and was diving again. Her spout is visible above her arching hump. The mountain backdrop had this pleasant blue tone. Enjoy!

Thad my friend you had the trip of a lifetime. Had I seen this I would have been so excited I would have forgotten to take the picture.

BTK is right about your trip Thad. Such wonders you have witnessed and this is another great example. I like the ship in the background. Gives the shot character.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

When people are talking about pristine or unspoilt nature they have mostly woods and/or mountains in mind. But to me, this is unspoilt nature as well. Hope that people will agree with me.

Wonderful that you could provide us with such a fine and interesting image, Thad. Well done!

Regards, Cornelius.

Beautiful in every way. I love the sparkle on the water. The ship coming towards us is in a great spot and a nice addition. Seeing a whale is a great thrill I'm sure.

The blue water and the sunlight coming down make for a wonderful gleam to the water. How lucky you are to have seen this and had your camera ready. Colossal photo.
