Skagway, Alaska, USA. Twelve feet of snow? No problem for this machine, constructed in 1898 for the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad. With two engines driving it, this turbine could cut through the snow and blow it well clear of the tracks. Restored, the machine is on display in Skagway. Enjoy!

It would be nice to have this one on our cul-de-sac. The city ignores us for clearing the snow, but is more than happy to collect the taxes from us. I bet this beaut would make a quick job of it.

There was a two part Gunsmoke episode years ago where the train with the main characters got caught in a snow storm. They brought is something like this to clean it up.
Excellent shot and so informative.

When I see this shot, I'm reminded of the doctoral candidates and Rhodes scholars that post proof of their brilliance on YouTube. In this video we see a future U.S. senator demonstrating that even your snow blower would be no match for him.

Thad, think I can use this 'tiny' machine in the wintertime to clean the path from my house to the shed from snow, lol.

Both an amazing and 'cool' picture, my friend.

Regards, Cornelius.

It's so huge you could blow a whole house away with it. It sort of reminds me of those giant tunnel diggers they use in coal mines.

Wonderfully clear shot at a nice angle getting in all the features of the train and snow blower. We both could have used one of these last Winter for our driveways! lol
