College Fjord, Alaska, USA. 20 miles long and 2 miles wide, the Yale Glacier is situated to the right of the Harvard Glacier. Enjoy! Note: The shoreline curves sharply on the right. Use the mountains for horizon balance.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
I've said it on many occasions before. To determine whether an image is tilted or not, a real vertical oject is needed as a reference point. This image lacks for such a reference point. Therefore I agree with you Thad to use the mountains as an alternative for a rough determinaton. It shows cleartly that Rob is not right in his above comment about a tilted horizon. Thanks for another splendid post.
This shot has some different post photo treatment that I don't recall seeing from you, Thad. Maybe it's just the bottle of tequila I just finished, but this shot seems to have a slightly painted quality to it. The detail is still there but not as pronounced. I would say that you have romanticized this shot. Whatever you did or didn't do, on my monitor this shot is outstanding. Well worth a "fave" and then some.
Gorgeous shot, Thad. When I look up the middle of that glacier, I think of a ski slope. Imagine skiing down this hill! Glad you said that about the horizon because you know someone would have questioned it.
Finally I have something critical to say about one of the captures in this series. I just think judging from the shoreline that the shot is leaning just a little to the right. It is a beautiful capture and that is so minor that it doesnt even matter. I love it and would love it anywhere in my home.
don't know if its me but I think the horizen is of tilts to the right I think.
