College Fjord, Alaska, USA. It was a rigorous climb, at times, hands and feet over steep rock outcroppings. But, planting the flag atop the peak was well worth the effort! Or, I could go with the other title I was considering, 'Zoom, Zoom', as this was a 200 mm zoom from the ship toward the Barnard Glacier. Enjoy!

Thad...

You had me going for exactly 0.004 seconds. Nice touch with the beginning of your narrative. Kudos.

I love the detail in this posting. In the upper left it looks like the remnants of a "wannabe" landslide. That would be a great climb. With the right shoes I'd give it a shot.

You sound like one of those astronauts who planted the flag on the moon. (Maybe, I have doubts about that one.) That zoom sure did it's job. What fantastic clarity on this one, Thad.

Well Sir Edmund, you got us a cracking shot here of that glacier. Very fine indeed! I love the close in look at the surface of the thing. I'd never make it more than one step without going down on my rear side.

I suspect the water would be cold when JimboB and I went sledding into the water. The textures are fantastic and the detail is so good Thad.
Excellent work.

The textures and details are perfect Thad. I would have let everyone think I climbed the darned thing. LOL!

Although you have used a 200mm telelens, you (and the ship, lol) seem to be pretty close. Wonderful and impressive post again, Thad.

I bet you felt foolish after making that rigorous climb when you noticed the escalator that ran up the back side of the mountain. Very good colours, details and textures in the photo, Thad. Great job for being on the deck of a ship 6 miles away while being chased by hungry polar bears and penguins.
