Glastonbury, Connecticut, USA. It's been a few years since I visited Cotton Hollow. This was one of the few sunny days that we've had recently, so I put everything but my camera aside and went photo shooting. Bracketed exposures (3), HDR post-photo. Enjoy! Thad

Very nice, Thad. Did you manage to keep the lens dry? Sure is a beautiful site.

I didn't think rough and tough Alaska would have a name like Cotton Hollow, Thad.
Beautiful work with the FDR. You never know what colors will come out of the shadows when you do some tone mapping.
Another great post.

This one gets the Acaedemy Award for Best Editing.

Hi, Thad...

I've added HDR to my list of things to do. It was 90° today, but winter will be on us any day now since there are really only two seasons on the Central Coast - those being rain and no rain. I've been very busy outside with my chainsaw and splitting tools. I'm no sissy and don't have a power splitter. However, with my shirt off I do look like Hercules. Of course, you have to be at least a mile away for me to look at all like Hercules, but I think you get the idea. I usually do most of my book learnin' once it starts raining; so for now I'm spending all of my spare time cleaning out gutters, working on my detention basin and generally winterizing the property. No time for HDR for at least a month.

This shot is glorious. With the exception of the very few leaves that are clinging to the trees in front of the white sky, this shot seems to be a perfect fit for your editing. The water movement is killer great. Love the colors and the 3D effect. I'm not sure if I like the rushing water, the conifers or the texture in the stone more than the rest of the shot. All combined, it's a beauty.

Thad, this image has it all, good composition, very fine tones, and so on, and last but not least, perfect postwork must have given it its final wonderful touch.

Regards, Cornelius.

You got a lovely scene here with the water flowing between the rocks and the sun lighting up part of the scene.
