Stonington, Connecticut, USA. Built with materials from its preceding light in 1840, this lighthouse was used until 1889, when a beacon was constructed on the harbor breakwater. Now, it is a museum. Enjoy!

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Glad to see they were recyling back then, lighthouses hold the

same fascination as trains and the caboose and the praying mantis.

Excellent capture of this lighthouse Thad. I could live there. Just needs four or five roses out front and home it would be.

It reaches just over the rooftop - sufficient for navigators to see. Good capture of this museum lighthouse Thad. Nice textures and clarity.

I too like the stone construction of this and I'm glad it's still being used if only as a museum.

I'm in a story both funny and cruel. But am I the hero or am I the fool?
