Continuing through the backyards, the last, and largest, addition to the house dominates. Also built in three stages, the side overhang was added at the end of all other construction. This is a single exposure image, taken in the early morning.

A good place under the overhang to sip the morning coffee or the evening brew,
I bet you liked the series "House," Thad.

I noticed on the backside where the there aren't any windows, looks like they had to replace some of the mortar (masonry), had to be redone. Another wonderful old homes, showing us so much history in the way they made homes and this one is beautiful

Referring to Pat's comment, I'm curious why there aren't any windows on the backside (except the small ones on the lower floor). Wish therefore I could have seen the construction of the interior. Think in my imagination that there's a basement, a stage with a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room, and on the top floor some sleeping rooms (and a bath room?).

Anyhow a fine addition to your series Thad.

Regards, Cornelius.

A good shot once again and I too noticed the lack of windows. But I know that is the way most log cabins were built with windows on only 1 or 2 sides of the structure. I'm guessing insulation had something to do with it.

Personally I'm wondering why there are bars on the basement windows. Must be where the mother-in-law suite is located.

A great looking scene and old house, Thad. Nice details, textures and lighting in the photo.
