Williamsburg, VA, USA. A trip to Virginia, with some pristine weather, provided plenty of photo opportunities. The restoration / recreation of Colonial Williamsburg, the capital of the colony / state at the time of the American Revolution, is quite extraordinary. Extensive archeology and historical research has been done since the late 1920s, providing an accurate understanding of the town, as it was in 1775. The original Governor's Palace burned to the ground in 1791; a pile of brick rubble was found in what was the basement area. In 1929-1934, it as reconstructed, and in 1981, the interior was reconstructed to reflect more accurately the palace based on historical research. P.S. - The sky was this blue on the day we visited.
