Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. After the bloom, this large seed pod forms, later to open and disperse. This was one of many of a huge tree, easily over one hundred years of age, on the grounds of Bassett Hall, the colonial-era house that the Rockefellers used when in Williamsburg. The Rockefellers were major benefactors, instrumental in the development of the restoration / recreation of buildings in Colonial Williamsburg, spending over $60 million.

This is an excellent capture with the lighting, focus, and detail. My neighbor has a magnolia tree (which leaves quite a mess on the ground, lol), but I've never seen the pods look as beautiful as this! Truly amazing.
