Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. Prisoners held in the gaol were usually there until the colony court was in session at the nearby capitol building. This is the view from the road by the capitol. To the right is the jailer's house, an entrance to the gaol area on the left.

I assume the prisoners may have had a long wait until their trial. The structure itself seems to be in great condition & I like the lighting / shadow play. Excellent capture, Thad.
