Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. The Capitol Building, reconstructed from extensive research in 1934, was originally built in 1705, when the capital was moved from Jamestown to Williamsburg, and was destroyed by fire in 1747, replaced by another one until 1779 when the capital was relocated to Richmond, (still housed in a building designed by Thomas Jefferson). The first Williamsburg Capitol Building is an H-shaped building that housed the House of Burgesses and the Council.
