Point Loma, California, USA. The remains of 112,000 military are buried in this 77.5 acre cemetery, spanning time from the California Territory to 2014. Shortly after this photo was taken, looking west to the Pacific Ocean, a car stopped on the cemetery drive. A man, about my age, got out of the car and helped an elderly woman from the car, and assisted her on her slow walk toward one of the headstones. There she stood, spending silent time with her loved one. My wife and I walked away, in respect to her privacy. But, as my wife and I looked at one another, we both had tears in our eyes and a lump in the throat, thinking of this woman's heartache.

One sees often grieving family members in a cemetery Thad. Fate can be so cruel at times. Another good shot of the cemetery.

Excellent perspective for this shot Thad with the mighty Pacific serving as the western guard of this hallowed place.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

What a great shot and narrative Thad.
They deserve a hallowed and beautiful place like this to rest.
