Torrey Pines Preserve, La Jolla, California, USA. This section of the coastal highway passes by Torrey Pines. To the right is the one remaining salt marsh, part of the Torrey Pines Preserve. (Over time, others along the coast have been filled for real estate development.) Behind me, up on the bluffs is the maritime chaparral. Of course, the Pacific Ocean provides a nice background to the scene.

I was a policeman when I lived in San Diego, Thad. There was a pileup of over 100 cars on the coastal highway and I was several miles from the crash site trying to get cars off the highway by signaling with flares for them to take the off ramp before they reached the scene of the crash. Did I mention it was extremely foggy. Several were killed as cars kept crashing into other cars. I was out there for hours and was lucky not to have been struck by many vehicles.
It was not as attractive as this fine photo.

This scenery is pretty amazing to me here in good 'ol flat farmland Illinois. I like your balance in this shot Thad - perfect amounts of lands, ocean and sky.

This is very good with the perspective, I think it's a shame they lost so much of salt marsh's due to real estate. When I lived in the bay area, it was nothing to drive over to Half Moon Bay, or some of the other beaches, and hang out, thanks for those memories. tigs=^..^=

Good composition of the photo. I like the curve of the highway cutting through the scene.
