A keeper told me these animals pace like that because of the captivity...They wouldn't do this in the wild, unless they are stalking prey!..

A well known phenomenon, Thad, because I did the same during my former career when I had to take difficult decisions. My habitat wasn't a zoo however, but my cabin or on the bridge of my ship, lol.
