This bottle fly stopped in at the garden for a repas. The metallic coloring on the hairy back is its trademark identification. We had a show down - face to face - and I shot first. Look into those compound eyes!

You caught him in a "no fly zone," Thad. I think you came out the winner. Super Macro work. It is mind boggling to me there is so much detail in them that most of us never see.
