I think drummer has some valid comments. The composition is quite nice. As with so many stone walls in New England, the tree that started as a small sucker years ago, has grown to a size that part of the wall is pushed aside by it. The vine growth grows up against the wall to add a nice touch. All this is captured nicely. In this photo, the bright lighting from the right distracts the eye from the wall. Some cropping, and post-photo work to reduce the brightness of the light would benefit the photo. Thad
I like these old stone walls and there seems to be so many around. I also like the path being there 'cause it aids in giving the picture depth so cropping isn't an option for me but I do agree that a reduction in brightness would have been nice.
Thanks for the comments-- and yes April this wall has a great deal of history as it belonged to a town that was dis-incorperated and desolved to make a great water shed resivor for Boston drinking water. The path was actually a road leading to the town commons.THE QUABBIN RESIVOR
Outside of the light issues I don't see too much wrong with the photo. Nice to know the story of the wall. I like the colours and keep the path.
